Alila Luang Prabang luxury resort hotel opens October 2010

If you are going to Luang Prabang, one of the most enchanting places to visit in Southeast Asia (and a UNESCO World Heritage site), check out a new luxury boutique hotel-resort opening in October 2010: the Alila Luang Prabang.

The resort has only 23 suites, each featuring a unique design. All suites have a private garden, and either a private pool or outdoor pavilion, guaranteeing maximum privacy and tranquility. Two corner suites provide exclusive tower access – a fabulous spot for enjoying an intimate dinner with panoramic views across Luang Prabang. The resort’s decor can be described as French colonial with traditional Lao accents. There are large, soft-cushioned sofas and lounge chairs, luxurious bed linens, bathrooms with rain showers, feature bathtubs and a fireplace. Modern tech amenities are present: HD TV, DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi.

If you like spa treatments, the Spa Alila will spoil you with massage and beauty treatments, meditation and yoga sessions. For those who love Southeast Asian cuisine, there is a cooking school offering hands-on classes and culinary excursions with local chefs. Too lazy to cook? The restaurant prepares delicious Lao and Southeast Asian dishes.

Other wonderful amenities are the swimming pools surrounded by lush gardens, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy baths, and a classic colonial style cocktail bar and library for those whose prefer intellectual pursuits.
