I have recently been posting articles about gorgeous boutique hotels in the Provence (Auberge la Feniere in Lourmarin and Maison sur la Sorgue in Isle sur la Sorgue) but they’re all a bit expensive, with prices starting at 150 EUR going up to over 300 EUR per night.
What if you’re on a budget? Well, I found this lovely B&B in Gordes, one of the most popular villages in the Luberon. It is called Au Ralenti du Lierre. Housed in a restored 16th century mansion, it’s an ideal place to use as a base for exploring the villages of Menerbes, Roussillon and Lacoste. The price of a double room for 2 persons is 76 EUR; four rooms is 96 EUR. There is a swimming pool, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. Breakfast is included. The rooms are decorated in French country style with vibrant colors and antique furniture.

Hi Esmee,
Looks fabulous ! I quess you must have eaten the right things during your stay, what did you have ?
still food loving Johan
Actually very simple local food like the olive oils, the charcuterie, olives, tomatoes, salads and of course, all the fresh fruits like cherries in late June into July. Reine Sammut’s restaurant at Auberge la Feniere is amazing. It’s in Lourmarin.
my search for the perfect B&B is over! It sounds perfect! WIll inquire abaout availability for this Oct. My hsuband & I are celebrating our annniversary…stopping in Provence before heading to St Tropez. Thanks so much for the review!
