Hotel Copernicus in Krakow, Poland: an elegant mix of antique and modern

If you are going to Krakow (Poland) and are looking for an atmospheric boutique hotel that reflects the history of the city, check out the Hotel Copernicus, which has been awarded the “Art of Living Trophy” for 2010.

The hotel’s unique and creative guest rooms and bathrooms make it an unforgettable place to stay. Rooms are large and have very high ceilings with exposed beams exuding “cosy elegance” with their velvet and dark wood furnishings and marbled bathrooms. The luxury suite with ceiling frescoes (pictured above) is the finest example of the hotel’s exquisite blend of history, art and contemporary taste.

It’s the small touches of charm that make this hotel stand out; there are pretty flower boxes placed outside the windows, chocolates can be found on your pillows every night, and the toiletries come from L’Occitane. Amidst all of the preserved history (the hotel was originally built in the 16th century) lie modern luxury and convenience for business and leisure travelers.

The location is ideal as it is situated between the castle and main square of old Krakow. In fact, it is right across the street from the late Pope John Paul II’s apartment. For those who want to stay in shape during their visit, the hotel has a lovely pool and excellent fitness equipment in their basement, which also has a sauna. There is a wonderful outdoor rooftop patio which functions as an elegant bar with amazing views over the historic streets of Krakow.  The inner courtyard is covered with glass and provides a quiet place to enjoy breakfast before heading out to explore the city.

For business travelers, the hotel patio is a Wi-Fi zone and the Fireplace Hall, which is filled with a large collection of old manuscripts, is a high-tech equipped conference room.  There is also a Cigar Lounge where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine from the wine bar that offers over 200 varieties of wine. The restaurant is excellent and has been given awards by the Culinary Wine & Food Noble Night Festival for the past two years.  Hotel Copernicus is full of charm and is the perfect place to stay for those who love a cozy atmosphere filled with tranquility and personalized quality service.
