La Madone: beautiful apartments in the heart of Apt (Provence)

If you are visiting the Luberon for a week or more, consider staying in one of the lovely apartments of La Madone, manor house in the center of Apt, owned by Nathalie and Jean-Bernard Masset. La Madone has five apartments, each decorated in a unique style (see below).

Rates per week are 500 EUR in the low season, 700 EUR mid-season (May-June-September) and 900 EUR in the high season (July and August). I do not recommend visiting the Luberon in the high season because it is very hot and unpleasant for long walks in the countryside and expensive. The best time time to visit is in late April through mid-June.

About the town of Apt

Apt is one of the largest towns in the Luberon and is the center of activity for the area that encompasses Roussillon, Goult, Bonnieux, Saignon, Gordes, Lourmarin, Saint Saturnin-les-Apt, Villars and Gargas. If you want to explore this region for a week or more, Apt is a good base for your stay because all the other Luberon villages are within a short driving distance. You can also rent bikes and explore the area on two wheels. Apt has a terrific farmers market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, good restaurants, bakeries, and antique shops.
