Raffles Makkah Palace: luxury hotel steps away from the Grand Mosque

If you are going to Makkah (Mecca) for pilgrimage and are looking to stay in a luxury hotel that is close to the Grand Mosque, check out the Raffles Makkah Palace, located in the towering Abraj Al Bait complex. There are two bedrooms at opposite ends of the suite; in between lie a large and exquisitely-decorated living area, dining room, kitchenette, dressing room and desk in its own designated work or writing space, as well as a beautifully-appointed entrance foyer for welcoming guests. Three luxuriant bathrooms each feature a separate area for ablutions. Twenty-four hour butler service is provided, and a complimentary selection of freshly-baked pastries, canapés and special chocolates is delivered three times a day.

Presidential Suites: These magnificent, luxurious suites offer 120 square meters of beautifully-appointed and artistically-decorated space in which to relax, entertain and contemplate the majesty of one’s surroundings. There are two spacious and private bedrooms; a splendid living and dining area that features the coziness of a traditional home, along with the latest in high technology; and three separate bathrooms, each with its own designated area for ablutions. Two inspiring views are offered: the Ka’aba and Central Makkah.  Twenty-four hour butler service is provided, and a complimentary selection of freshly-baked pastries, canapés and special chocolates is delivered once a day.

The hotel entrance is a three-minute walk from the Ka’aba. After a tiring day, you can relax in the wonderful Raffles Amrita Spa (which features His and Her fitness centers) and enjoy a meal at the terrace restaurant with views of the mosque. There’s also a sophisticated tea lounge and a fun ice cream based cafe.

The Abraj Al Bait Complex, which contains Raffles Makkah Palace, also includes a premium four-story shopping mall, a commodious prayer hall that can accommodate up to 10,000 people,  a superbly-equipped convention center that can hold up to 1,500 people, a parking garage for over 1,000 vehicles, a museum and even a lunar observatory.
