Temple Tree Pokhara Nepal: A Base to Explore the Annapurna Range

If you are going to Pokhara, consider staying at the Temple Tree Pokhara boutique hotel, your base for starting treks in the Himalayas.

Nepal has gone upscale in the last several years. Tea houses now offer private showers and Wi-Fi, and in some cases, even Belgian beer. Most visitors to Nepal will want to escape from chaotic, polluted Kathmandu as quickly as possible and head for Pokhara, a lovely lakeside town which is considered to be the “outdoor capital of Nepal”. Pokhara is the gateway to treks leading to the Annapurna Region (see our Guide to Hiking the Annapurna Circuit).

Temple Tree Pokhara

Temple Tree Resort and Spa is a boutique hotel in the center of Pokhara within a two-minute walk from Fewa Lake. The hotel offers a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, privacy when preferred, and attentive service.  Temple Tree Pokhara comprises two-storey individual cottages, finished in hand-cut stone and featuring beautifully decorated timber struts and pillars. Each room has a private balcony with pergola looking on to a lush garden and swimming pool.  Many rooms also have views of the Annapurna Himalaya range.

From Temple Tree Pokhara it is only a short stroll to specialty restaurants, fine handicraft stores and trekking equipment shops, mountain bike or boat rental shops and convenience stores. Major banking facilities including ATMs are also within easy reach.

Room amenities include free Wi-Fi, TV and other western comforts.  The Spa at Temple Tree Pokhara offers many Ayurveda treatments and massage, which is a nice welcome for those travelers who have been on a long trek in the mountains.  Infinity Pool and Jacuzzi are also a nice features of the hotel.  During our stay, we preferred to eat outside the hotel as there are so many good dining places in town. The hotel can arrange excursions such as lake trips, rafting, paragliding or one can contact one of the many travel agencies in town. There is a buffet breakfast which includes Asian and Western dishes.
