If you are going to Singapore and are looking for something completely different from the standard business hotels that dot the city, check out Wanderlust, a boutique hotel that bills itself as an experimental design hotel (“left field” and “industrial glam” are just some of the words they use on their website to describe the look and feel of the place).
The hotel is in an old school built in the 1920s in an area called Little India; it is very close to Mount Sophia and Arab Street. There are 29 rooms designed in four different themes. Room rates are very reasonable for Singapore: starting at 100 EUR (US$130) per night for a double room in the mid-week. There is also a restaurant called Cocotte which serves rustic French cuisine.
