The Five Hotel: sensual quirky design hotel in Paris

boutique hotel paris 5th arrondissement

The Five Hotel is a quirky modern design hotel located on a quiet street in the 5th arrondissement in Paris, away from the hideous tourist traps and noisy mobs of the Boulevard St. Michel. The hotel is within walking distance from the delightful rue Mouffetard with its cafes, restaurants and bars and from the lovely hammam of the Mosquee de Paris on rue St. Hilaire.

This is one of the city’s smallest boutique hotels to open recently, with only 24 rooms, each of which is individually decorated. All rooms have striking fiber-optic, color-changing lighting integrated into the bedroom ceilings giving them that space-age look. The hotel also utilises one of the most noble of Asian arts – lacquer. Artwork by Isabel Emmerique, an artist who has been working with Chinese lacquer for 30 years, is present in all rooms.

Along with modern design, the rooms have modern amenities such as LCD satellite TVs, more than a hundred multilingual channels, free WiFi, a combined bathroom (with bath or shower) and toilet, and double-glazed windows. Rooms come in different themes and sizes ranging from scintillating romance, canopy, luxurious, standard, and one by five.

The price of a standard room starts at 150 euros; a suite with private Jacuzzi and patio costs 270 euros.
