The Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez, a historic 1930s hotel and one of the first in Saint Tropez, has been given a much needed facelift by French designer Sybille de Margerie, with light design by Alain Guilhot.
The Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez was a popular hangout among French and foreign celebrities frequented in the 1960s and 1970s. It fell into disrepair and closed for 21 years before opening again in early 2013. The hotel’s extensive renovation has given it edgy urban feel with 60s retro touches. The most daring aspect of the hotel is the glass-bottom swimming pool suspended above the atrium. The location is unbeatable: the famous beaches of Saint Tropez are 10 minutes away. It is only a minute walk from the harbour and a few minutes’ walk to local markets, boutiques, restaurants and bars.
Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez has 52 rooms and 38 suites. Each room has Wi-Fi, a rain shower, LCD / VOD / iPod station, HDMI & USB port linked to TV, DVD player on request, private telephone line with voice mail, minibar, safety deposit box, terraces overlooking the landscaped patio, twice-daily housekeeping service, and a pillow menu.
The “Suffren Café by Georges”, run by 3-star Michelin Chef Georges Blanc, is a bistro-style restaurant that serves dishes using fresh local products. The restaurant leads onto a landscaped patio planted with olive trees and a patchwork of local aromatic herbs. Set under shade sails, the patio is an invitation to sit back and enjoy a drink or a gourmet bite to eat. There is also a rooftop lounge bar for warm summer nights.
